Our Ponsandane home enjoyed a truly special visit this week, when musician Pete Hamilton stopped by to deliver something really heartfelt for our residents; private, one-to-one musical performances, right at their bedside.

Instead of playing a single set for everyone in the communal lounge, Pete took the time to go from room to room, sitting with each resident and playing songs just for them. It was a gentle, thoughtful gesture that brought calm, comfort and plenty of smiles throughout the home.

“It was absolutely delightful,” said a member of the Ponsandane team. “The quiet, personal moments were just beautiful. To see each resident have their own little concert, it meant so much, especially to those who can’t easily come together in shared spaces. Music really does bring such comfort and joy, and Pete did it in the kindest, most thoughtful way.”

The intimate performances created a warm, peaceful atmosphere across the home, proving that live music, shared one-to-one, can lift spirits in the most wonderful way.

“Thank you, Pete, for such a special, thoughtful visit. Our residents loved every minute. What a gift to be able to share music so personally. We hope you’ll come back soon!”
