Our home features 45 bedrooms, many with en-suite bathrooms and lovely views of the gardens or sea. Spacious communal areas provide a variety of comfortable settings for socialising, activities, or quiet relaxation, while our hair salon and elegant dining room with floor-to-ceiling garden views add to the home’s welcoming charm.

Outdoors, residents can enjoy our large, landscaped gardens, designed for relaxation and enjoyment of nature. Surrounded by beautiful flowers and wildlife, the garden is an ideal place to unwind, connect with others, or simply take in the beauty of the surroundings.

Food & Nutrition

At Ponsandane Care Home, we believe that good food is more than just nourishment—it’s an opportunity to bring comfort, joy, and community to our residents’ lives. Our Head Chef and kitchen team prepare a variety of nutritious, freshly prepared meals using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. We offer varied and seasonal menus and cater to special dietary requirements. Working closely with the homes clinical team, and the residents themselves, food is catered to individual requirements.

Residents can enjoy meals in our comfortable dining room with garden views, choosing to dine with others or individually, based on their preference.

Our Activities Coordinators work closely with residents to create a diverse range of engaging activities and outings, tailored to individual interests and abilities.

From engaging social activities to outings in our dedicated minibus, we offer something for everyone. We’re proud of our strong community connections, regularly inviting local groups, schoolchildren, and volunteers into our home, and hosting events in our beautiful gardens.

Participation is always optional, and we’re happy to adjust plans to fit specific needs or preferences, ensuring that everyone can engage in a way that feels comfortable and fulfilling.

At Ponsandane, our goal is to provide the highest standard of person-centred care with compassion, dignity, and respect. Our experienced, team is available 24/7 to deliver residential and nursing care, whether for long-term support or short-term respite.

Each resident receives a personalised care plan, developed in partnership with them and their family, and regularly reviewed to ensure it continues to meet their evolving needs.

Our highly skilled clinical team have experience caring for people with a wide range of long-term conditions, these include Parkinson’s disease, MS and Huntington’s. The team work closely with our nominated GP surgery and specialist teams to provide each individual with the care and treatment they require to live well with their condition.

Our approach to care is holistic, focusing not only on physical health but also on emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing, so residents can live as actively and independently as possible
