Activities & Hobbies
We have two full time Activities Coordinators who work with residents to develop a varied programme of activities and hobbies ranging from exercise classes to art sessions to excursions. Ponsandane also welcomes a regular stream of visitors into the home including community groups and clubs and often hosts events and functions.
Food & Nutrition
Our Head Chef Bev Rangeley and her team provide a varied menu sourced from local ingredients wherever possible. All meals are freshly prepared and cooked with a choice of courses. Bev is a keen advocate for good nutrition and makes every effort to ensure all our residents have a balanced, nutritious, and varied diet.
Personal Care
Our aim is to look after you and your individual care needs to ensure you receive the very best care possible. Care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and we work with you to develop a comprehensive care plan based on your needs, which is assessed with you, on an ongoing basis.
Close to the centre of Penzance with magnificent views towards St Michael’s Mount, Ponsandane Care Home provides residential, respite, and nursing for the elderly.

I have worked in Healthcare for 17 years having qualified as a Nurse more than 10 years ago. After working in different settings, I came back to the care home setting as it is my passion. Being able to support residents and their loved ones, ensuring that they have the best possible experience in our home and feel a part of our community is extremely rewarding.
I thrive in challenging situations and pride myself on my adaptability. I encourage our team to always look for the positives and what we can learn from every situation. This enables the home to constantly move forward and embrace new challenges, it allows the team to grow and feel pride in their work.
