Food & Nutrition

The Poldhu’s Head Chef has worked at the home for over 25 years and has a wealth of experience in understanding the dietary requirements of older people. He and his team work hard to provide nutritious food and a varied menu, sourced from local ingredients wherever possible. All meals are freshly prepared and cooked with a choice of courses.

Activities & Hobbies

We work with residents to develop a varied programme of activities and hobbies ranging from exercise classes to art sessions to excursions. The Poldhu also welcomes a regular stream of visitors into the home including community groups and clubs and often hosts events and functions.

Personal Care

Our aim is to look after you and your individual care needs to ensure you receive the very best care possible. Care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and we work with you to develop a comprehensive care plan based on your needs, which is assessed with you on an ongoing basis.

Jason Storr

I’m delighted to introduce myself as the Manager of Poldhu Nursing Home.

I’ve spent over 30 years working in adult social care, building my experience across a variety of settings and supporting people from all walks of life to live safe, fulfilling and meaningful lives. Over the years I’ve developed a deep understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, supporting people with complex needs, and nurturing teams – all while creating environments where everyone feels welcome, valued and included.

Throughout my career, I’ve learned that great care starts with listening. I’ve always worked closely with residents, families, staff and professionals, building strong, trusting relationships. I believe wholeheartedly that everyone deserves dignity, respect and compassion – and that everyone should have a voice in their own care.

My experience has also taught me what it takes to run a happy, successful home – from strong leadership and good governance to quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Above all, I know that every decision we make must keep our residents at the very heart of what we do.

Most importantly, I believe a care home should feel like home. Every resident here has their own unique story, personality, preferences and hopes – and I want us to honour and celebrate those in everything we do.

I’m so excited to get to know our residents, their families and our wonderful team. I look forward to building on all that is already great about Poldhu, working together to make sure we provide the very best care and the warmest possible home for everyone who lives here.
