Life at The Poldhu
The Poldhu has a warm, welcoming and relaxing environment, with a vibrant community of residents, relatives, staff and friends. Set in 10 acres of grounds overlooking Poldhu Cove on the Lizard in Cornwall, the home has spacious lounges, a beautiful dining room and comfortably decorated bedrooms, with sea views.

Activities & Hobbies
We work with residents to develop a varied programme of activities and hobbies ranging from exercise classes to art sessions to excursions. The Poldhu also welcomes a regular stream of visitors into the home including community groups and clubs and often hosts events and functions.

Food & Nutrition
The Poldhu’s Head Chef has worked at the home for over 25 years and has a wealth of experience in understanding the dietary requirements of older people. He and his team work hard to provide nutritious food and a varied menu, sourced from local ingredients wherever possible. All meals are freshly prepared and cooked with a choice of courses.

Personal Care
Our aim is to look after you and your individual care needs to ensure you receive the very best care possible. Care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and we work with you to develop a comprehensive care plan based on your needs, which is assessed with you on an ongoing basis.
Care at The Poldhu
Our extensive training and development programmes for staff underpin our commitment to making Poldhu a great place to live and work.
We always felt confident about discussing with the staff, matters relating to Mum’s care and as well as considering important issues relating to her health, there was always plenty of humor and good feeling which I know Mum was able to share.

I have worked in healthcare for 40 years, in a variety of roles from that of the nursing auxiliary, to being a dual registered nurse and a clinical psychologist.
I started my career supporting care of the elderly and returned to this over ten years ago as a Home Manager.
Having found my passion was to work with others to guide and support them to deliver the high standard of care we would all hope for all our loved ones in later life.
